Using a Directory
There are several copies of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Directory of Names located at the east and west ends of the Memorial. You will want the same information as listed above in order to locate a name.
The directory can be purchased at the Lincoln Memorial Gift Shop on the National Mall or by calling Guest Services Inc. at (202) 223-6706.
Locating a Name Online
As part of its effort to preserve the legacy of The Wall and to educate about the impact of the Vietnam War era on society, VVMF, in partnership with Winstar Communications, Inc., developed an interactive website to serve as the Memorial's virtual twin.
The Virtual Wall allows visitors to take a virtual visit to The Wall and leave remembrances of loved ones and family members who died in the Vietnam War. The website was launched on Nov. 10, 1998 at the White House by Vice President Al Gore, a Vietnam veteran.
